Description
A high quality modern replica of the traditional Lucas U39 main lighting switch. This type of lighting switch was used on countess makes and models of classic motorcycles.
The switch has three positions – “OFF”, “L” and “H” – for the headlight off, low and high functions. The low position normally turns of the side / pilot lights and the tail light, and the high position brings in the headlamp circuits too.
On the rear of the switch are a selection of screw terminals to connect the various power and lighting circuits, and make other connections as necessary. Various models of the U39 lighting switch were produced by Lucas over the decades to account for the different wiring configurations used by different motorcycle manufacturers. This is a replica of the later Lucas model which has the extra terminals required by later bikes, but which remains fully compatible with earlier machines (some terminals are just left unused).
