August 2012 update

My 1949 Matchless G3L

I’ve managed to find the time to add quite a few updates to the website this month. Following on from quite a few requests I’ve received for more photos of both my 1951 G3LS and my new 1949 G3L Matchless motorcycles, I’ve added some new galleries with lots of pictures of both bikes in India, here in Hong Kong and also back in the UK.

You can view all of my photo galleries by following this link:
https://matchlessclueless.com/galleries/

The new galleries I’ve added this month are as follows:

  • Photo’s of my 1949 Matchless G3L
  • Photo’s of my 1951 Matchless G3LS
  • Bikes in India photo gallery
  • Classic motorcycle worldwide photo gallery

Another important update for you is that I have now added a list of Matchless Spare Parts Lists to the free download section of the website. This follows on from the Owners Instruction and Maintenance Manual download page that I added a couple of months back. I will also be adding the AJS spares lists to the same page in the future, but am still currently sorting and uploading all of the files I have at the moment.

My aim is to be able to have complete year-by-year lists of all of the Matchless G3 model (and the equivalent AJS Model 16) owners manuals and spares lists available for free download from my website. There are quite a few gaps at the moment so I would be grateful if you could help by sending me copies of any missing documents you may have so that I can start to fill in the missing years.

More updates coming soon, so please check back regularly!

Regards, James

Hi James – I have bought a pair of knee rubbers for my G3LS. What is the easiest way to fit them onto the plates which stand proud of the tank?
