One of the few 12v LED tail lamps that work with both positive and negative earth electrical systems!
The LED stop and tail lamp features a single high-power 1 watt LED enclosed in a glass globe which closely resembles the size, shape and appearance of a conventional filament bulb. The beam angle of the LED is approximately 180 degrees giving superb illumination of the tail lamp, however number plate illumination is not quite as good as our top-end 12v super intensity LED stop and tail light. It is however the next best thing.
It is suitable for use with all 12 volt vehicles, for both positive and negative earth wiring systems. It is not suitable for 6 volt vehicles. This is probably the best LED stop and tail light available for 12 volt vehicles wired with a positive earth (for negative earth vehicles we recommend the 12v super intensity LED stop and tail light which is just a little bit brighter, has a slightly wider beam pattern and a nice warm white colour similar to a conventional filament bulb). But if your bike has positive earth wiring, then this is the stop light bulb to go for!
This LED lamp is suitable for the majority of rear lamps fitted to motorcycles both classic and modern. It features the standard BAY15D dual-contact offset pin base which is sometimes known as the 1157 fitment. It is a dual intensity lamp which means that the single LED illuminates at two distinct brightness levels for the tail and stop light functions. Having a single high-power LED pointing directly out of the rear lamp makes this LED unit very visible.
The LED has a bright cool white colour. Alternatively we also offer a version of this LED bulb with red LEDs – see 12v high intensity red LED stop and tail light. This cool white version gives better number-plate illumination, whereas the alternative red LED version isn’t so good at lighting up the number-plate, but gives a slightly brighter and more red stop and tail light. The choice is yours!
For classic motorcycles, this bulb will fit (amongst others) the Lucas MT110, MT480, 679 and 917 rear lamps. It will also fit the Lucas 564 and 525 lamps but our custom 12v LED light board will give even better visibility and number plate illumination.
